Coach John Lewellen has been involved in boxing for many years. We are truly blessed with his  talent of helping our boxers grow spiritually as well as athletically. His love of Christ and boxing is contagious! Coach Johnny was a PRO Boxer until an accident ended his career.   As a coach, Coach Johnny has a record of over 500 wins and 60 losses...VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!!  Coach Johnny is also a LEVEL III Coach and LEVEL III Official CERTIFIED by the US Olympic Committee.  He spent a week in intensive training at the US Olympic Training Facility in Colorado Springs CO to earn his coaching certification.   Coach Johnny served as President for the USA Boxing South Carolina Association from 2012-2016 which is a great honor for any coach.  He was elected to this position by his fellow South Carolina Boxing Coaches---a statement that says...He's a leader... 

While we strive to get our members physically fit, we also tend their spiritual side.  Each night we have a short bible study and closing prayer.  We feel it is important to be a well-rounded athlete both in and out of the ring.  Many aspects of boxing teaches life lessons that can be used on a daily basis.  It is our goal to not only train a great athlete but to help each member of our gym be  spiritually strong well as physically so they are positive, productive members of our community.  We do not tolerate foul language or disrespect to any staff member or another team member.  When you join our team, you become a member of our family.

 

Ms Teresa (or Ms "T" as she's so often called) is the VP and Secretary of School of Hard Knox and an Assistant Coach.  She is also a Level III Official certified by the US Olympic Committee and holds a Level I Coaches Certification.  Ms. Teresa also spent a week in intensive training at the US Olympic Training Facility in Colorado Springs CO to earn her Officials status.  She is 1st Aid & CPR certified.  Ms. Teresa is the highest ranking female official in South Carolina and serves as the Chief of Officials for South Carolina USA Boxing.  While not a boxer herself, she has come to love the sport and truly enjoys working with the team on a daily basis.  Ms Teresa is the administrator for the team and can walk you through the paperwork that is involved in becoming an amateur boxer.
